Building Consensus

About the event

Robert Marzano pointed out over ten years ago: “The need for a collaborative goal-setting process has been highlighted by researchers and theorists for at least four decades.” Achieving goal consensus is easier said than done. In this session, we will participate in the Brainstorm-Cluster-Name-Resolve method to build consensus around an important topic. This experience models a structure school leaders can use with staff throughout the school year.

Collective efficacy has long been recognized as a critical influence on positive work environments, increased team capacity, and student achievement. We know it’s important, but how do we foster collective efficacy with our staff? There’s no time like the present to build collective efficacy by engaging in a rich and meaningful goals consensus process with staff.

This session, intended for educators at all levels, will include a 75 presentation followed by 15 minutes for participant questions.
